The magpie robin is national bird, Shapla is the national flower, Jackfruit is the national fruit, the mango tree is the national tree, the Hilsha is the national fish, the Baitul mokarrom is the national mosque, the nationl martyr's memorial is the national monument and Kazi Nazrul Islam is the national poet of Bangladesh.
The president of the state is Abdul Hamid.
