বাংলাদেশ হল পৃথীবির সবচেয়ে বড় ব-দ্বীপ। বাংলাদেশ নদীমাতৃক দেশ। এই দেশে অসংখ্য নদী রয়েছে। কিছু বিশেষ নদী হল, পদ্মা, যমুনা, ব্রহ্মপুত্র,কর্ণফুলি ইত্যাদি। পৃথীবির ২য় বড় লৈানা পানি বনভূমি সুন্দরবন। তার অবস্থান এই দেশে। এই থেকে বাংলাদেশের প্রকৃতি সর্ম্পকে জানা যায়।

বাংলাদেশ দেখতে কেমন তা বলে বুঝানো সম্ভব নই। যারা এই দেমের সুর্ন্দয্য দেখেছে তারা বার বার ফিরে আসে বাংলাদেশকে দেখতে। এই সুর্ন্দয্য দেখে সকল কবিই মুগ্ধ।তাই বিভিন্ন কবি বিভিন্ন ভাবে এই দেশের প্রকৃতির বর্ণণা দিয়েছে তাদের কবিতা ও গল্পের মাধ্যমে।
