Infinity Ward recently confirmed the start date of the fifth season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. The launch of the new season will take place on August 5, 2020 at 19:00 German time. The information about the leeks comes directly from the first trailer, which the developers have released for the new update.
In the video, Infinity Ward and the Shadow Company introduce a new group of soldiers to be introduced as part of the new season. The team consists of the three operators Rozlin "Roze" Helms, Velikan and the leader Marcus "Lerch" Ortega.

Activision summarizes background details about the Soldiers of the Shadow Company in a recent blog post on its website. It is not yet clear from the data when the new operators will finally come into play. Presumably Infinity Ward will gradually introduce the new operators during the current Season 5. We will find out what will happen at the launch of the season by August 5th at the latest, because then Infinity Ward will present the preliminary roadmap as usual.
The three operators of the Shadow Company
- Marcus "Lerch" Ortega: Muscle Pack Lerch is an ex-member of the U.S. Marine Corps. On the battlefield, he is known for being particularly enthusiastic and effectively eliminating his enemies. In Verdansk, he leads the Shadow Company operation.
- Rozlin "Roze" Helms: Roze was part of the Allegiance subgroup Jackals before joining the Shadow Company – but she is still friends with the Allegiance operator Mace.
- Velikan: Almost nothing is known about Velikan. On the battlefield, he wraps himself in full-body armor to keep his identity secret. Stories about his misdemeanours are written off as fairy tales at best and as gross exaggerations at worst.
New Weapons in Season 5

B&T ACP9
Already a few months ago there was a first leak, which showed that this submachine gun in caliber 9mm was already fully developed and hidden in the game files – now it has been officially confirmed. Due to the extremely high fire rate, the APC9 is likely to be a competitor to the MP5, P90 and the Fennek.
AN-94
The new AN-94 assault rifle was also discovered in modern warfare's code earlier this year and is finally finding its way into the game with Season 5. Serial veterans already know the weapon from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It is still unclear whether the AN-94 will be called this in the game – the Galil, for example, quickly became the CR-56 Amax. The assault rifle is characterized by high precision and high damage per hit, the magazine with 45 rounds is one of the largest of all rifles in this class.
