Where am I right now in my journey? Day 952 of my learning streak!

Now that Duolingo gives a number score for every language, it is easier to see my progress. A score of 10 means introducing yourself, 30 means you can order in a restaurant, 50 means you can give directions to a place, 90 is watching a TV show, 110 is communicating at work, etc. Here is where I am:

English: my native language!

German: 68 (leveled up!)
Italian: 45
Norwegian: 29

Dutch: 19
French: 16
Spanish: 13
Russian: 12
Greek: 10
Korean: 10
Portuguese: 10
Polish: 7
Welsh: 6
Hebrew: 6

I also am working on my ASL, which is still very basic. I get to practice this at church a bit, since we have a sizeable population of native American Sign Language users (Deaf) and some pretty good interpreters.

How are you studying so many? I only study one and I find it difficult to understand when I'm watching anime or Japanese movies on Netflix 😅

I started doing multiple languages as an experiment to see how many my brain can keep distinct. I focus on improving my German, then on Italian to acquire a romance language. Norwegian and Dutch are germanic languages, so are related to German and English. !BBH
