Stats make you more credible. There is just too much room for abuse, and witch-hunting.
By "being more polite" I mean if you focus on the positive (I saved the reward pool [this much] money, making your upvote more valuable and have decreased the noise floor on bad quality content!) just makes you more personable, more people will want you around and be proud to have you on the platform; you can shift from being a neutralizing force to being a positive force and overall will have a larger impact.
As it is now it might as well be political theater.
W/e people also take notice when they join the platform and just see an uncontrollable can of worms. If people at least see a unified community to address problems with the platform then adoption will happen much faster.
Many people, including many whales, take notice of his temperament and choose not to support him.
If he did not go on hot-headed flag streaks, was well tempered and tried to report REAL abuse I am certain he would get significantly more support than he currently has.
Both his words and his actions show that his ego is seriously inflated with the power he has been given through steem.

If you were nice to people you would have a lot more respect on this platform.Would people take notice if he was 'nice'? I seriously doubt it. Personally I respect honesty over being nice.
