Chatuchak Park in Bangkok !!

in #beautifulsunday4 years ago (edited)

Last week the bans for visiting parks due to covid-19 where lifted by the government which has now given me the opportunity to visit more green area parks while i am still stuck here in Bangkok city which actually , i don't mind at all so yesterday , i made my way over to Chatuchak Park.

It's relativity a easy park to get to by Skytrain , it will virtually drop you at the front door of this amazing well kept park if you simply hope of at MoChit station you walk downstairs your at the front door of park.

All the gate entrances to this park were closed of accept for the one entrance near the Skytrain station the reason for this was that they had security checking everyone's temperature before entering the park which , i thought was a brilliant idea keeping safe.

Chatuchak park is one of the oldest public parks in Bangkok. Construction began in 1975 on land donated by the State Railway of Thailand. The park opened on 4 December 1980 and has a area of 75 acres of pure beautiful nature and some wildlife.

This huge green space park boasts a leafy jogging route or walking route depending on which you may prefer to be doing is up to you. I was amused on how they had these orange cones down the center of the jogging paths acting as social distancing what it has become..lol 😆

One thing i noticed in this park yesterday was many squirrels coming out of the woods and people feeding them they were actually taking food out of people's hands the one lady , i spoke to about this was saying these poor squirrels haven't seen humans around for nearly 2 months so all these poor little fellas where definitely hungry and not been shy about it certainly was amazing to see these little fellas so close up.

I noticed this park is right next to Chatuchak markets one of the biggest markets in the world , so it would be a perfect evening stroll after exhausting bargaining at the nearby Chatuchak Market to enjoy a bit of beautiful nature.

So good that you can visit this beautiful park again, and how fun to see these Bangkok Squirrels!

Thanks @melinda010100 it was great to be out amongst nature again , i was almost tempted to take one of them cute squirrels home 😆

I sent your link to my daughter and we are both amazed by all the different color variations of your Squirrels. Although some communities have Squirrels that are black, most of our Squirrels are grey and look alike. There are fox Squirrels that are bigger and red Squirrels that are smaller, but for the most part they all look alike, too. Yours are rather incredible!

I do know your daughter loves Squirrels and i am sure she would have been impressed and myself was amazed in many colors they do come in , i always thought they were just one boring color grey well these ones proved us wrong 😊

Oh wow! This park means so much to me. I went there the day before we left for Canada. We were staying nearby so we went there quite a bit. My heart is doing something strange when I see your photos. Happy and sad. I miss the flowers and the other parks next to it where we had picnics with our friends.

Thanks for sharing!

It was so nice to been able to walk the parks again i absolutely loved this park so well kept and so much to see i did see the other parks opposite i will need to go back next weekend and check them ones out.

Thanks for dropping by @carolynstahl take care and stay safe 😊

Trees, flowers, squirrels and butterflies! Thanks for sharing your wonderful surroundings, @bigsambucca! Just beautiful!
The beaches in California were ordered closed because the crowd gathering in beaches was slowly becoming too large and may be risky, while your parks are opening.
Be safe and take care 🥰🌺🤙

They can't have the gathering of picnics in the parks but it was just so beautiful to be able to be walking around you don't realize how much you miss something till it's taken away from you.

Stay safe and healthy my friend 👍 😊 🌸

Missed this one because my script cut off at 2359h American Samoa time.
Nice part of Chatuchak. I've never been to there myself.

Not a problem but happy that you took a look at this park it is one of the best in Bangkok city a very well kept park with lots of beautiful nature to be seen.

That is one extraordinary park love all them squirrels they seem pretty friendly.

Ahhhh...them squirrels made my day it was so awesome to see these little fellas.

Glad it bought a smile to you @bigsambucca 😊

Hi @bigsambucca, I found Bangkok so big and hard to get around. I probably need to come back and spend more time getting to know this lovely city. Loved looking at all you photos and what a find to see so many little squirrels. I did not know squirrels lived in this city.

It definitely is a big city to navigate yourself around but the Skytrains and under ground trains seem very convenient in taking you very near to places. Those Trendy Downtown Bangkok Squirrels have it made they have the perfect location in the city 😆
