THE AFRICA MEDIA NEVER SHOW YOU
Hello!
My name is Aiman Y. Ally i go as all-incredible in steemit, i am 22 years of age and also a Tanzanian resident.
Back in 2015 i went to Middle east to visit my relative from my mother's side and whenever people find out that i grew in Africa, they tend to have allot of questions. They want to know why i don't have an accent and whether i grew up in a hut and what it was like having a giraffe for a pet. Annoying as those kind of nonsense they are mostly surface-level reflections of deeper problem: Because of the way the continent is routinely represented in main stream global media, what people are asking is why i don't fit in their stereotypical assumptions about what Africa is, where do disease poverty and wild animal fit in to narration of my life?

Highlighting some aspects of Africa the global media actively ignores doesn't mean denying the very real issues, we must collectively deal with it, simply mean the continent and the billion people who inhabit it's 56 countries have the same right to plurality that the rest of the world does.
