Well, another IPA, but a Session one. S.M.A.S.H. by Dogma brewery.

Well, the Serbian brewery is among my favorite ones, and the fact they are from the Balkans make me feel them a bit closer šŸ˜

Havenā€™t had a session IPA in a while and this one being a 4,7% is not so session. Still, I was happy that it was something different from a Hazy IPA, which is so fashionable right now. The SMASH session IPA comes in a 330 ml can, that means it was supposed to be such an easy drinker.

Small beer in a small glass. I have these water glasses and find them very suitable for beer too. Very practical indeed! So letā€™s dive into the beer itself!

I am happy to see something not so hazy in my glass. Itā€™s not perfectly clear, but this is an IPA after all. This is a sign of hoppiness, which cannot be missing in a beer, unless it was a filtered one. Dogma brewery doesnā€™t filter their beers for sure!

The hops in this one are kicking your nose. There are a lot of citrus and floral aromas and they make the sips ultimately refreshing. In the mouth the beer is not thick at all. Itā€™s not thick in any way, though. Very typical for a session IPA. The only dominant ingredient here are the hops, and they are a lot, for sure! I love the IPAs this way. Very light bodied, but heavily hopped. West coast style. I miss them and this NEIPA trend is exhausting me from time to time.

Thatā€™s why this beer made me feel happy in a different manner. Happy and nostalgic at the same time. And I sincerely hope that the brewers all around the world will start making again classical IPAs. I donā€™t mind the juiciness of modern NEIPAS, but really, really miss the dry hoppiness.
