Another Beer from our friends at Parallel 49 in Vancouver from their collaboration pack with Central City- The Great White Winter Adventure Pack. This was an advent calendar style case consisting of 12 beers from each brewery.
Wild Ride is a Belgian Strong Golden Ale finished with Brett.
Like most beers of this style, it has an underlying candy sweetness which does a little to cut through the booziness of this 9.0% abv brew. Effervescent and crisp, it has a sweet fruity flavour as well as a tart funk due to the yeasts involved. The brett is what really makes this beer stand out for me. It just gives it that extra something you wouldn't normally get from the style. I really like the funky flavours imparted by it in almost every beer I've had that used it.
All in all this was an enjoyable beer and one that I liked more than most for the style.
