Hoy os muestro en el #beersaturday de esta semana una locura de cerveza de los neoyorquinos de Other Half Brewing Co. Una de las mejores y más prestigiosas cerveceras de todo Estados Unidos. Y cuya fama es totalmente merecida. Un claro ejemplo de ello es esta cerveza de casi 12º de alcohol.

Cervecera: Other Half Brewing Co. (Broiiklyn, New York)
Estilo: Triple India Pale Ale
Alcohol: 11.3º
Lúpulo: El Dorado, Amarillo, Simcoe, Galaxy, Mosaic y Citra.
Formato: Lata de 500 ml
¿Cómo es posible que en una IPA de casi 12 º el alcohol no se lo lleve todo por delante?
Pues la respuesta la tienen estos muchachos que son unos verdaderos maestros de las cerveza.
Una carga de lúpulo fuera de lo normal que aporta un sabor amargo pero muy fresco debido a su reciente enlatado. Una buena dosis de avena en copos que aportan esa melosidad extrema y delicada densidad que solo Other Half sabe conseguir, y Un poco de lactosa que hace el trago más amable, son las claves para que una cerveza de casi 12º se beba como si tuviera 7º. Increíble pero cierto.
La cerveza es una verdadera delicia.

How is it possible that in an IPA of almost 12º the alcohol does not take everything away?
Well, the answer lies with these guys who are true beer masters.
An unusual load of hops that brings a bitter but very fresh flavor due to its recent canning. A good dose of oat flakes that provide that extreme sweetness and delicate density that only Other Half knows how to achieve, and a bit of lactose that makes the drink more pleasant, are the keys so that a beer of almost 12º can be drunk as if it had 7º . Incredible but true.
The beer is a true delight.
Oh WOW what a beer!
I have not heard of Other Half before and think you may be on to something! Anything north of 8% ABV tends to have a good chance of tasting like a pint with a shot of vodka in it. If they can manage to smooth that out with oats and sweet flavour, and keep it unfiltered for that full taste, there is a chance.
Hops: El Dorado, Amarillo, Simcoe, Galaxy, Mosaic and Citra and over 11% ABV?!? I DEFINITELY need to sample this one!
