Hitting the Beers stash again with "Yours Truli" a German-style Wheat Ale brewed by Weeping Radish Brewery located in some small town with a name no one can pronounce properly in Eastern North Carolina.

Fun fact: North Carolina is geographically divided into three sections: the mountains, the piedmont and the coastal plain.

The coastal plain is referred to as Eastern North Carolina or just Down East.

This brew has a unique history. Sierra Nevada Brewing first brewed "Yours Truli" in honor of the Father of North Carolina's craft brewing industry, a German immigrant by the name of Uli Bennewitz.

In 1986 Uli Bennewitz founded the Weeping Radish Brewery. But before he could brew his first barrel he had to convince the North Carolina Legislature to change the brewing laws in North Carolina. Prior to 1986, only large breweries could operate in North Carolina. Thanks to Uli a whole new industry was born!

The supposed secret ingredient in this brew is Triticale grain.

The story of the Durham Epiphany Malt House is a good read with another German immigrant.
The malt house utilizes mainly regional wheats and supplies many of North Carolina's craft brewers.

Yada yada yada . . . how is the beer?

So out to my own personal beer garden for a taste. (If you notice there are fewer plants in the background as I did get the tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and squash into the garden last weekend)

Pours out with a large head and is highly carbonated. The appearance is golden but a little cloudy. The taste is clean and light on the palate. There is a hint of "clove" and citrus to this brew.

Truly worthy of the tribute to Uli!

Just showing off the white foamy head on this wheat beer.

Prost!

Sort:

I can always enjoy a good wheat beer. I like when they have a bit of spice and a hefty grain bill to back it up. Good call on the lager glass too. It will let that beer breath.

As to the glass, easy choice since its the only one I have that can fit a pint of beer!

Ok that’s about the best answer I’ve ever heard lol.

Nice looking beer, now I'm going to grab one too. I got my veggies going now also.
