Oh Happy Father's Day!

It is nice when you get a special Father's Day gift. And since my children KNOW what I like they got me a new brew to try.

PJParty Hoppy Pilsner by Resident Culture Brewing Co. in Charlotte North Carolina.

A pilsner is a light clear lager usually with a slight bitter taste.

Lets see how Resident Culture describes this brew.

Off to my private beer garden.

I did get a new visitor in the garden this week.

The day lilies have arrived.

Kinda matches the recent sunset I enjoyed.

All the signs of Summer abound in my private beer garden.

Fun Facts: Charlotte, North Carolina, where Resident Culture brews its beer, is located in Mecklenburg County.

The flag of North Carolina has two dates on the banner.

April 12th 1776, the date that the North Carolina Congress authorized its delegates to vote in favor of Independence.

The date May 20th 1775 is a reference to the Mecklenburg Declaration which is arguably the first official resolution for American Independence. The resolution was passed in response to the Battle of Lexington in Massachusetts. The Declaration reads in part:

"Resolved, That we do hereby declare ourselves a free and independent people, are, and of right ought to be, a sovereign and self-governing Association, under the control of no power other than that of our God and the General Government of the Congress; to the maintenance of which independence, we solemnly pledge to each other, our mutual cooperation, our lives, our fortunes, and our most sacred honor."

So there is your North Carolina history lesson.

Now for the beer.

Off to the beer garden and the pour.

Pours well with a light head and highly carbonated. The aroma is full of hops. The color is a clear light golden straw.

Drinks clean and dry with a touch of hops BUT not IPA hoppy. The bitters linger on the palate.

Cheers and peace out!

Enjoy the weekend and happy #beersaturday.

Looks like a pretty good beer - I love that light yellow colour - like it's a good craft beer in disguise
