Hofbrau Original.

I found two German Beers in the bottle store, here in South Africa. I was quite happy about it. Both were Hofbrau Beers, one was an original and the other a Weisse.

Today, I tested the Original. The Beer came in a decent size, 500ml bottle, and has 5.1% alcohol.

The Beer poured very clear, with a huge white head on top. No haziness in this one!!

Although the beer tastes light and is very drinkable, it is a boring beer, yawn, yawn, yawn!! I guess when one is used to the hoppy taste of craft beer, the commercial beers just do it any more!!

I now remembered again, why I only drink craft beers these days!!

I know this !BEER (Okay, i live in Germany). And you are right. This Beer is good but it is nothing special.

All the !BEER that I loved, before the craft beer craze grew, is now nothing special!! They don't have the taste of craft beers!

Yeah, you're right. Commercial or I say industrial beers are usually light and without any significant taste. But, chilled and if you don't have any other coice are good. 😎🍺🍻

Never looked at imported beers due to long lock down, many on the self have aged beyond the date with no movement.

Prices are high with very few to select from, glad you found one to try even if it was not quite in comparison to what you brew at home.
