Beer Tasting: O'Hara's 51st State IPA & Irish Pale Ale

in #beersaturday5 years ago (edited)

Hello beer tasters!

How's going? SteemFest 4 started, beer tribe has a meeting there but I'm far away :( maybe next time, who knows...
Nothing special new here, just friend invites me to taste some new beers he bought in local store. Ok, let's go.

O'Hara's 51st State IPA

It's brewed by microbrewery Carlow Brewing Company, also known as O’Hara’s Brewery, Carlow, Ireland. As they said, they brew traditional Irish beers and their own interpretation of international beer styles. 51st State IPA is unfiltered, alcohol 6% ABV.

A hazy yellow color, in the first sip you can feel the intense bitterness of IPA style beer mixed with the tropical citrus aromas and the caramel. The bitterness also remains in the end, after a last sip for some time. A very good beer for me, a distinct IPA that you don't forget so quickly.

O'Hara's Irish Pale Ale

It's from the same brewery, Pale Ale Irish style, dry-hopped, bottle, alcohol 5.2% ABV.

Orange color with solid, firm foam. The bitter aroma of hops all the time, and at the end of the sip, some fruity citrus aromas sneak into the background. A very drinkable and refreshing beer, this Irish Pale Ale.

Of course, the music is obvius for beer tasting, with a friend we're listening to Sharevari cover of Dirtbombs :)

What to say for the end? Great beers, no doubt. Only the price could be a little more appropriate. Namely, both beers are €5 which I find quite expensive, beers of this rank are in the local shops between €2-3...

Yeah, Atos wants to go home, he doesn't like beer, he prefers dog cookies :)

Enjoy Your Beer!

That Pale Ale looks right up my alley

That's great. Just take one :)

Nice reviews. I see you are a beer expert:)

Well, not really, more drinker than expert, it's a repetitive activity, so why don't take a shot and write few words :)

Thank you, that's nice surprise :)

My pleasure, I’m glad you enjoyed!

Can't say I've ever had an Irish pale ale but sounds intriguing.

Same for me. It's good but expensive...probably I won't taste it regularly :)
