Standing indecisive in front of the bags of chips, her thoughts were clouded with all the arrangements regarding her best friends' wedding the following week. Finally she shook her head, in the hope it will clear her thoughts.
As she got up on her toes, reaching for her favourite flavour of chips on the top shelf, someone snatched that very same bag she was aiming for. She had a combination of rage and irritation, jet calm and forgiving building up in her. So she just played it cool and took a even bigger stretch to grab the next bag in line, once again she was beaten to it.
She fell back to her feet, bit her lip, as if to prevent herself from saying something inappropriate, and she looked up to him. As soon as their eyes met he smiled and held up the bags and asked, "Two?" She frowned in confusion then tried to answered as plainly as possible, "It's your life. I can't tell you how much you should or shouldn't eat." She then turned back to the shelf to try, once more, praying he doesn't take the bag she was aiming for.But as she reached up he interrupted her and said, "I already go your first two bags, I can just as well get you the third one."
She wasn't completely sure what he was saying and therefor asked, "You were doing me a favour?"
"Yes."
" You weren't being rude?"
"No."
"So those bags, the bags your holding, their mine?"
"Unless you don't want them anymore, yes." His voice was kind, playful and there was no trace of judgement She was frozen for a few seconds, not because of his his words or actions, or maybe it was just that, that made him seem familiar...
