History of sailing
The history of the sailing started with the history of human civilization development. The civilization development started by traveling one place to other for trading. Sooner or later people realized that sailing has greater mobility than traveling through the land. Thus the first part of the sailing started not as a hobby but for exploring the world for trading as well as better living opportunities.

Principle of sailing:
Sail depends on the airflow of the wind. This airflow creates various forces. There are two types of forces which are helpful for sailing.

A pushing force of the wind:
This is used when the sails want to sail through the same direction of the wind.

A pulling force of the wind:
When the sailor wants to sail through the opposite direction of the wind, this force is used. Let me explain how this happens. It may seem to be impossible when you g=hear the first time. The air that flows on both side od the boat are redirected to the rear side of the boat. This airflow creates a pressure difference on both sides of the boat. Due to this air flow at the front side of the boat experience a low pressure and at the backside of the boat a high pressure is created. This pressure difference results in a pull o the front. And due to this pulling force, the boat moves to the opposite direction of the wind.

Effect of the wind on sailing:
There are two types of wind experienced during sailing. The true wind and the apparent wind. True wind means the actual airflow that experience to a stationary object. The apparent wind is the airflow experienced due to the forward movement of the boat.

Sailing Angle:
Sailboats cannot sail directly into the wind. There should be a minimum angle kept related to the direction of the wind. If this minimum angle is not kept the sailboat will slow down and eventually will stop. So in a sail, there should be a minimum angle to be set for good sailing.

Beating:
The method of zigzagging the boat direction against the wind to reach the upwind destination is called beating. The zigzag angle used by the modern sailors varies from 35 degrees to 60 degrees.

Reaching:
In this mode, the boat is not sailing against the wind. But it goes perpendicular to the direction of the wind. This is the fastest way to travel.reaching is better because the wind gives good forward speed to the boat and also most of the time the boat can move exactly in the desired direction.

Running:
If you want to sail the boat in a very comfortable way, then you need to try running. It takes an angle of 30 degrees to the direction of the wind. This code requires continuous attention to avoid any possible jibe. Running is not suitable for beginners. An inexperienced sailor can misjudge the strength of the wind and get into danger.

Sailing for pleasure:
Sailing for pleasure involves short trips. This can be across a bay coastal cruising or blue water cruising. These trips are generally single-handed but also can be done as a group or family. There are classic sailing boats designed for recreational sailing.

Gunk holding is a style of casual coastal cruising. This normally done during the summer with family or a group pf people. N this activity the sail takes several days. They anchor overnight. This is used to explore isolated islands and enjoy swimming and fishing.
