28 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the focus is on our commitment to society as a whole. This is the only way to achieve unity - a historically unique process which could only be accomplished with European support and which we want to celebrate at the original venues: between the Central Station and Potsdamer Platz, in the Tiergarten, around the Reichstag building and the Brandenburg Gate and on Platz der Republik, the place where unity was accomplished and celebrated for the first time in 1990. In addition to the representatives of all 16 federal states and the so-called Zipfelbund, the federal government, the Bundestag and the Bundesrat also present themselves there.

28 Jahre nach dem Mauerfall steht unser aller gesamtgesellschaftliches Engagement im Vordergrund. Nur dadurch ist die Einheit möglich – ein historisch einmaliger Prozess, der nur gemeinsam mit europäischer Unterstützung vollzogen werden konnte und den wir an den originalen Schauplätzen feiern wollen: zwischen dem Hauptbahnhof und dem Potsdamer Platz, im Tiergarten, rund um das Reichstagsgebäude und das Brandenburger Tor und auf dem Platz der Republik, jenem Ort, an dem die Einheit 1990 vollzogen und erstmals gefeiert wurde. Dort präsentieren sich neben den Vertretungen aller 16 Bundesländer und dem sogenannten Zipfelbund auch die Bundesregierung, der Bundestag und der Bundesrat.!
