Hello friends, today i would like to introduce you with the most festive traditional and cultural occasion of Assam i.e.,Bihu. Bihu is celebrated thrice in a year. It is the most precious occasion of all the North Eastern people and its feelings and passion gets touched to all. It is the heart and soul of the Assamese community.It has many rigorous customs,which is [email protected] all over the world used to visit Assam and would also like to become a part of this rigorous traditional festival. Its types are Bohag Bihu,Kati Bihu and Magh Bihu.
Each bihu is celebrated in different seasons with different thoughts from the early period.Among all ,the Bohag Bihu i.e.,the Rongali Bihu(commonly known) is the First and also the main.It falls in the month of April. The ongoing festivities of Bohag Bihu marks the traditional Assamese New Year.It is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu Solar calender.
Bohag Bihu is a celebration of Spring,Colours and its revival.The traditional Assamese New Year signals the start of the Fresh harvest season.people celebrate it by singing and dancing Bihugeets.people used to take blessings from elders by touching their feet, which is also considered as the simplest way of gaining positive energy by our former saints!people used to offer prayer to ensure good harvest and agricultural products throughout the year.All in all Bihu is the occasion which connects people with nature ...
