The rustic bunting (Emberiza rustica)

I continue to talk about this rare bird in our forest.
Why did I call her rare? The encyclopedia says that it does not extend beyond the Novosibirsk region. (By the way, I just live further in this area) Simply put, this bird does not live here! And you can meet it only during periods of migration, when she arrives or flies away. And it so happened that her route from China and Japan lies through this small forest. It's amazing.

I rummaged through my old archive photos, and found photos of the female, made during the migration in the middle of autumn.

As you can see, females do not have black color in plumage.

Birds live in small flocks, and only in summer, like all other forest birds, live in pairs.

Beautiful sparrows. We have a lot in our country

hehe :) This is not the sparrows. It's a buntings https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emberizidae

Emberizidae
Emberizidae is a family of seed-eating passerine birds with distinctively finch-like bills. In Europe, most species are called buntings. The New World genera formerly considered part of this family are now placed in their own family, Passerellidae. Some other New World genera have been reassigned to the tanager family, Thraupidae.

Забавно. Название птицы знаю, слышал и не один раз, но никогда не видел этой птички.

Good photography

thanks!
