On previous articles (see Bitcoin Wisdom #12) we talked about the lightning Network and explained briefly how it enables for fast decentralized and instant payments. This update together with other projects groing in the Bitcoin Ecosystem brings Bitcoin closer to mass adoption and to a means of exchange rather than solely a store of value. One example of this increased adoption is the Lightning Network TrustChain Torch (a Lightning Network transaction created by @hodlonaut), this transaction started with a small value of Bitcoin (10,000 Satoshis, 1 Satoshi is the smallest value of Bitcoin) and got passed around like a torch from user to user each adding his own 10,000 Satoshis thus creating a global transaction which as of now has gone over 200 diferent places in the world, literally crossing borders without being censored or manipulated. This idea of passing a transaction between users may seem trivial or nonsensical but it's objective is to reach Venezuela to help people there discover Bitcoin. To sum up, low fees and transaction validation without the need to wait for the blockchain to be updated, allows lightning network to become the king of instant payments while still being censorship resistant and incredibly resilient to any form of corruption. Bitcoin becomes successful not by virtue of what it represents, but because many people are working to improve the Ecosystem and this will usher new forms of enterprises which are now beginning to grow in this amazing revolutionary process of a paradigm shift in value.
En artículos anteriores (ver Bitcoin Wisdom #12) hablamos sobre el Lightning Network y explicamos brevemente como permite pagos rápidos y descentralizados. Este desarrollo junto con otros proyectos creciendo en el ecosystema de Bitcoin permite a Bitcoin crecer cada vez más cerca de una adopción global y como un medio de intercambio así como una reserva de valor. Un ejemplo claro de esto es el Lightning Network TrustChain Torch ( una transacción de Lightning Network creada por @hodlonaut), esta transacción empezó con una pequena cantidad de Bitcoins (10,000 Satoshis, 1 Satoshi es el valor más pequeno de Bitcoin) y fue pasando de usuario a usuario y cada uno añadia 10,000 Satoshis a la transacción creando así una transacción global que hasta ahora ha pasado por más de 200 lugares en el planeta, literalmente cruzando las fronteras sin ser censurado ni manipulado. Esta idea de pasar una transacción entre usuarios puede parecer trivial o sinsentido pero su objetivo es acabar en Venezuela donde servirá para dar a conocer Bitcoin a los venezolanos, los cuales ya están teniendo una adopción masiva de esta tecnologia. Para resumir, las bajísimas tasas por transacción y la validación de pagos sin necesidad de esperar a que se actualize la blockchain, permite a el Lightning Network convertirse en el rey de los pagos instantáneos conservando su resistencia a la censura y a cualquier forma de corrupción. Bitcoin se convierte en competente no por virtud de lo que representa, sino porque mucha gente trabaja para mejorar el ecosistema y esto creará nuevas formas de empresas que ya estamos empezando a ver crecer en este increible y revolucionario proceso de cambio de paradigma en el valor del dinero.
