Dragon Chain

in #bitcoin6 years ago

It was made by Disney so it must be good, right?
It was created by Disney and then later released as an open source project.

Purpose? They want a way to allow businesses access to the blockchain technology without the extraordinary cost they would normally incur. Why should businesses use their chain? Apparently, the smart contract system requires that any proprietary technology be publicly available. They want businesses to use smart contracts on the blockchain without exposing their intellectual property to the public. They also what the blockchain to be easily accessible by allowing people to use very popular computer languages to develop for it (Python, Java, C# and Node).

Level 1:
Operates as a mini blockchain completely controlled by the business. It is at this level that smart contracts are deployed. Nothing can leave this level unless the business specifies.

Level 2:
The blockchain is then passed to this layer where its transactions are reverified and additional information is checked and added which creates another block.

Level 3:
Another verification. However, this is to make sure that the previous verification was diverse. That is that enough different sections/nodes in the previous blockchain verified the the blocks (transactions).

Level 4:
Notary level. An external partner will sign the blocks received from Level 3.

Level 5:
At this level, the business’ blockchain will be able to interact with a public blockchain. The businesses blocks will be hashed and placed on the public ledger. The main purpose of this seems to be the verification of the existence of the business’ data. At the risk of simplification, it seems to function like a public library.

The other assets inside the DragonChain ecosystem are the incubator, which will allow businesses to work closely with the team to build their blockchain solution. They also plan to have a marketplace from which businesses can buy ready made smart contracts and other needed materials. Dragon Coin is needed to access the ecosystem.

There is novelty to the DragonChain system, however much of it will be dependent on existing platforms like Azure, AWS and Google cloud. They require these platforms to build and scale their platform. It makes sense considering they want to make their platform available to as many people as possible.

Though it’s strange. They currently have a few companies in their incubator. For some reason, they plan to launch their Incubatees ICOs before they actually build out the rest of their platform. I think they must be looking to these ICOs to provide some liquidity for their continued development.
