FL: it's been over two weeks since the launch of the DECENT Software Sale. What results can you boast of? If we talk about your goals, if all goes according to plan?
M. B.: At the initial stage of ICO, we saw incredible support from the community and only for the first days collected more than 4000 BTC. Now, after two weeks, this amount increased to 5200 BTC (about $3.1 million at current exchange rates). These funds enable us to continue to develop DECENT Network according to the plan outlined in our road map.
With this support, we made a huge step in the direction of change of the processes of content distribution in modern society. DECENT Software Sale is a one – of-a-kind opportunity to become part of a managed bloccano the future of media, and the purpose of krautsalat is ensuring decentralized nature of the network. We remain focused on our long-term goals: creating a global network built on the principles of security, trust and transparency.
FL: Your model involves predominantly technically savvy users, or at least have a basic understanding of what a decentralized platform. Is there not a risk that regular users will eventually be sidelined? How do you plan to make the platform attractive to them?
M. B.: Our model provides a number of opportunities for a wide range of users. Understanding decentralized systems and their principles are really necessary for those who want to create new applications on top of its DECENT or wants to become a DECENT miner, that is a publisher in the network DECENT.
To facilitate the process and build a trusted ecosystem, we plan to support the implementation of the DECENT into existing solutions or developing new applications. Although ordinary users the process of publishing and purchasing content in a decentralized network may seem overly complex, in fact DECENT enough to be friendly to the users of the network. Its functionality was recently demonstrated on the example of the first application, which was built on top of its platform blogging style Medium. One of our main goals is to make all processes inside a DECENT Network is so intuitive and simple as possible.
FL: Facebook Users in recent times complain of outright censorship, while the social network insists that is not a media company. At the same time in Facebook do not hide that use a lot of systems in place to automatically detect content that violates their standards. What will be your position in relation to offensive or obscene content?
M. B.: As a decentralized network of content distribution, DECENT based on the decentralized trust. This means that the network belongs to the users. We have implemented a mechanism of power users, allowing to estimate of the authors and their proposed content. Content with poor grades will gradually disappear from the network. In addition, we have DCT tokens, which are not only a tool of the network, but the mechanism of protection from spam. DCT makes the publishing process is effective for real users and expensive for spammers.
It is also important to understand that DECENT is a Protocol. However, we also have the ability to solve such issues as copyright infringement. At the moment we are working on technology that will determine the authentic content and to ensure that it would not publish content that has already been created by someone else. Soon we will inform more information about this.
FL: Tell us about your recent partnership with mining company Minergate.
M. B.: Partnership agreement with the MinerGate mining provides DCT. It will be based on the algorithm PoC (proof-of-custody). Miners is one of three functional roles within the Network DECENT. In our terminology, they are the publishers, who verify their purchases and all transactions and distribute payments among the authors. For this they get a reward. We are very pleased with this cooperation – thanks to the access to the customer base MinerGate, it will provide a DECENT rapid development.
