What is the problem with trying to help and do no harm?

The Story of Haejin Lee (@haejin)

One of Steemit's most wonderful contributors is Haejin Lee @haejin. His motto is: 'to help and do no harm'.

Haejin is a technical analyst by past experience and combines chart pattern recognition with Elliott Wave analysis to determine the probable price direction of Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies.

His chief purpose in posting on Steemit is to teach by example and help others learn the skills he so effectively applies so that they may successfully invest in the cryptocurrency market. These skills were developed by stock market investors but can be applied in the analysis of cryptocurrency price behavior as well.

Haejin has attracted the interest of troublemakers on Steemit whose chief joy in life seems to be manipulating Steemit's protocol to cause harm to Haejin by down voting his posts and reducing his Steem Power value. Their conduct is juvenile, malicious and perverse.

Haejin has tried valiantly to defend himself and encourage others to support him, but is facing a foe without a conscience who will not relent.

A word for both Haejin's attackers and Haejin. To the attackers - keep doing what you are doing. Your behavior will be the end of you and you will ultimately be neutralized by Steemit and it's participants. No bad deed goes unpunished. You will learn this lesson in spades.

For Haejin, who is pondering leaving the Steemit platform, I would encourage you to continue to endure. It is always the bleakest before the dawn. These troublemakers will ultimately be marginalized and/or move on to other prey. Just make your posts, periodically remind followers that their support is appreciated, and ignore these troublemakers. Their time is limited and you will outlast them.

The skills you are passing on are invaluable and Steemit is an excellent platform that allow's your knowledge and teaching to be rewarded. You are doing so much good. I repeat - you are doing so much good. While moving off the platform would be easy and you could carry on somewhere else, there is a principle to be taught by persevering and prevailing over these troublemakers. Perhaps it is this that would be the more valuable lesson in the long run that you would be remembered for - that you stand up to bullies and in that very act overcome them.

Good luck to Haejin and good luck to any other Steemit participants who may face a similar situation.
