I would say the biggest question which needs to be answered is "where to store the coins"? Do you utilize a 'trusted' 3rd party such as coinbase or blockchain, or download your own wallet? One is easier but the other is ultimately safer...This for me would be the biggest concern as a rookie bitcoiner.
