Sony has a new TV show about cryptocurrency called "StartUp"

Sony has a new show coming out on September 6 called StartUp, and it's about cryptocurrency (sort of). A young woman in Miami has created her own new currency that her software completely controls, called GenCoin.
Her digital money is closed source. It doesn't seem to run on a distributed ledger. She calls bitcoin a "cute idea" in the first episode. This thing is going to be eviscerated by the bitcoin/ethereum/steem crowd.
*Have a taste of the awfulness to come...

I found you because someone copy/pasted an article from Observer and you commented on it. If you run into that again you can mention @steemcleaners in your comment and someone will investigate.

Okay, I got a real kick out of the clip. Especially when mentioning bitcoin was "a cute idea" and susceptible to corruption, as if a for-profit or non-profit wouldn't be. I might have to watch a few episodes.

Thanks man. I did not know about that and I'm glad to know that's something that exists. That will really help to keep this place working well.

Definitely check out the show. I hope some crypto scions will give it a proper takedown. It does not treat its subject or its audience with respect and it deserves it.

Would love if this was a parody show of Onecoin. That would be so funny.
