So my mom's roommate who's a senior citizen asked me to help him get into cryptocurrency. I guess while I've been staying at my mom's for work he's been listening to my cryptocurrency podcasts and YouTube videos. After a week of listening to my podcasts and YouTube videos and even longer of me talking about it he wants to get a little bit. The hardest part of it is to get him a wallet that he won't lose his funds with. This will be fun I love helping people get into the cryptocurrency space. My mom's roommate who asked me to help him learn about and purchase some bitcoin did his first transaction. I made some paper wallets in order to do this. I walked him through the paper wallet a little bit. I also had one of my wallets open. I handed him my wallet walked him through how to send a transaction to the paper wallet and then how to sweep it back to a hot wallet. He did pretty good for his first transaction. Know just got to find him a easy to use noncustodial wallet. I'm thinking Edge wallet mainly because it's easy for beginner's to use and probably the most senior citizen friendly wallet.

Do you think Bitcoin Core is too complicated?
I don't know your particular case, but it's probably the most secure, which he would likely appreciate. He might also be interested in contributing to the network by running a full node if he has the networking requirements and his setup is up to it. Even if his storage can't hold the whole blockchain you could prune it down to fit.
It's also pretty easy to use in my opinion.
One's never too old to learn something new anyways. Unless one says they are I guess.
