Why are older generations hesitant to buy Bitcoin?

Introduction

I only recently invested into the famous Crypto currency Bitcoin, but hey. now is better than never. My dad, in his ealy 60's has many investments in companies, these include the big cellphone companies in South Africa, mtn and vodacom.

So i thought he might appreciate me introducing him to the Crypto market. I sent many articles to him regarding investing in Bitcoin etc... but he seems hesitant. Saying things along the lines of "a bank doesn't control it", "When your gardener starts telling you about an investment, you know its the right time to not invest" etc. This got me thinking IS BITCOIN ONLY FOR YOUNGER GENERATIONS?

My perspective as to why  older generations are hesitant

Growing up in a different time, my dad learned from his own farther. Before the advent of crypto currency, a lot of emphasis was place on banks and institutions in which a person could invest. This gave the investor a sense of investing in a solid external entity that everyone else was investing in as well.

In my opinion, older generations struggle to grasp the nature of crypto coins, because after all it is a coin you invest in on the internet. Because of social pressures and the younger generations having a different perspective about the possibilities of the internet, i believe Cypto currency will mostly stick to younger generations. When i say young here, 40 is still young, a 40 year old has still been exposed to enough internet at work etc to understand the concept of Bitcoin.

What do you think?

Let me know what your opinion is. Do you know of any people 55 above who have invested in Crypto currecy?

Older generations are sometimes hesitant to embrace change, they stick to their old norms of doing things.

Indeed, hopefully Crypto turns into our norm.
