Satoshi Nakamoto on this day 3rd, 2009 released the code and begins the blockchain which bitcoin is being mined on. The first block was mined 9 years ago.
Bitcoin was worth $0 in 2009 during its very first year of existence and today bitcoin is worth more than $15000.
Reflecting on how far we have come, I will reiterate the purpose of Bitcoin and crypto in general.
Bitcoin is a protocol. A network of trust to end the systemic predation by the State.
It is a war against censorship. Strong crypto changes the nature and visibility of many economic bureaucrats, making it difficult for governments to interfere or even enforce laws etc.
It is a war against modern day rip-off by governments who by debasing money supply create inflation and keep all of us in the rat race.
Bitcoin-based economy simply does not allow this as it's based on deflationary economics.
I will also like emphasize on the "voluntary" nature of crypto. Those that do not want privacy, can choose not to use crypto.
What we want to make sure doesn't happen is other's insisting that we can't use crypto to maintain our own privacy.
There are still issues to be resolved like the high transaction fee and the slow transaction speed, am very optimistic about a solution currently tested upon (bitcoin lighting network) where we can all transact at high volume and high speed with low fee.
