Blockchain constantly conquers new areas. Another breaking news recently came from China, where documents from the decentralized ledgers began to be recognized as verified and suitable for trials. It is announced that the Blockchain will primarily be used to resolve copyright disputes in the Internet.
On September 7, the Supreme People's Court of China published provisions clarifying the procedures for judicial proceedings in cases involving the Internet. One section of the document indicates that courts are required to recognize digital information, verified by certain methods, including Blockchain verification. The new provisions entered into force immediately.
Traditionally, courts throughout the world have depended on notarial assurances that were required to confirm the authenticity of the documents or evidences. Now the Themis servants will be able to use a more efficient, convenient and cheaper way of verifying the documents or any other items - a decentralized ledger.
Now that the Blockchain is recognized in China, a huge country with almost a quarter of the world's population, this gives a confidence that Blockchain will surely be recognized and used in the rest of the world.
