Essentia is a proactive project that aims to be at the forefront of the new wave of world-changing technologies. When we see problems, we take the initiative to develop solutions.

On Tuesday, the 20th of February, in The Hague, Matteo Gianpietro Zago (Founder), Mirco Mongiardino (Founder), Bedros Awanesian (Head of Business Development), and Erik van der Staak (Essentia Advisor) were invited to a joint meeting with two Dutch Ministries (the Dutch Ministry of Justice & Security and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water (Transport) hosted by the Ministry of Justice & Security.

During the session, the Essentia team shared their vision and thoughts on how the blockchain could be leveraged at border control points. More precisely, on how the Essentia framework could manage the identities of international travellers aboard the Eurostar rail service between Amsterdam and London.

As it currently stands, travellers are made to repeatedly board and re-board the train with redundant identity and document checks at various stops. This puts an unnecessary strain on travellers, the transport system, and prolongs journey time.

Essentia performed a thorough analysis of the situation with the Eurostar service and proposed a practical interim solution to the two Dutch Ministries. Providing a detailed description of the Essentia framework and blockchain, as its underlying technology, Matteo and Mirco explained how the current identification process can be solved.

With the help of Essentia, all four countries connected by the Eurostar service (the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom) have the opportunity to independently and remotely identify the passengers and confirm whether they have been approved for boarding. This allows for rapid, remote control of which travellers are allowed to enter a target country, based on entry requirements.

The meeting between Essentia and the Dutch Ministries went very smoothly, in an open atmosphere, where extensive, constructive discussions were made. The Ministry expressed great enthusiasm for the Essentia proposal and recognized the outstanding potential of our project. Essentia displayed such promise that a further request was made by the Ministries from the team to create blockchain-based solutions to border control all across the Netherlands.

Essentia is currently in discussions with the Dutch Ministries regarding the implementation of a pilot for facilitating identity management at border crossings throughout the country.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Dutch Ministry of Justice & Security and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water (Transport) for their kind invitation, genuine interest, and openness to the novel solutions we proposed. Essentia look forward to working together with the Government of the Netherlands to harness the massive power and potential of the blockchain in real world applications.

Wow, this is huge! Essentia speaks directly to the Dutch government...
I am impressed that the government in the Netherlands is so open-minded about new technologies, to be honest. I wish this were the case for every country, and maybe we would live in a better place.
Good job, guys! You're doing something significant. Waiting for the ICO announcements :)

We are glad to share the same vision with you. One of our main goals is to introduce a new way of living that is completely decentralized and user centric.
We think that the revolution should be made on the governmental level. And we are very thankful to hear such kind words.
