I think grin will pay an important role in the future. Lighting makes bitcoin much more private, but in order to fund or clean channels anonymously bitcoin is not enough. Grin has all the advantages and can be linked to the same lightning network.
I think most people will use bitcoin for transactions and store of value. But a significant fraction will route their payments though grin for anonymity.
