Why giving Bitcoin for Christmas might be the best gift YOU will ever receive!

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Christmas shopping can be a real challenge. This is especially true if you are not shopping for a child who has given you a very detailed list. When shopping for adults is can be very difficult to decide on something because for the most part if they want it, they already have it. Or the reason they don't have it is it cost too much. We want to be original and thoughtful, but we don't want that to backfire with our choice being either returned or re-gifted to someone else. Many of us just throw up our hands and buy gift cards. What fun is that?

If you want to give something original, give them Bitcoin( and if you are feeling generous toss in a Ledger Wallet)! For most folks this will be something very unexpected and something they would not have bought for themselves. In fact chances are they would not even know how to buy it for themselves. Most people only know of bitcoin from the news and how it just keeps going higher and higher. This will give them a chance to be part of the action! Something interesting to tell their friends.

It is also something that will be educational. Even if all they do is keep it and follow the news they will be exposing themselves to blockchain technology, which is clearly the wave of the future in so many areas. But if they want to "return" it and simply cash it out they will need to educate themselves on how to do that. Or maybe they will actually use it as a currency and shop at one of the places that accept bitcoin. In fact if you know of some you might want to give them a helpful list. Or maybe they will just forget about it for a few years and then one day discover they can take your small gift and go out and buy a car with it.

But why is this the best gift YOU will ever receive? How about these reasons:

  1. If you shop early, you might be about to spend $75.00 on a gift that will be worth $100.00 by Christmas.

  2. You have solved your shopping dilemma, no hours in the mall or settling for unimaginative gift cards.

  3. You are educating one more (at least) person into the world of cryptocurrencies. The more people who know about them and understand them, the better it is for the whole crypto community. Of which I assume you are or you would not be reading this.

  4. You are giving yet another person a stake in the future of crypto. The more people with a stake in it the less likely politicians will attack them.

  5. You are helping to diversify bitcoin. Bitcoin becomes more valuable the more people who hold it. I mean if only a handful of people owned it, it would become virtually worthless.

  6. If they spend it, it will help prove the case as a means of exchanged. This will lead to more businesses wanting to take the effort of adopting the use of cyrpto's.

The more you give in the short run the more you will have in the long run. Such a deal! I call it Crypto-Karma :)

Good tip. Bitcoin will truly be one of the best ideas for Christmas present. And you are correct with you thought that it is convenient for both sides the gift-giver and the gifted.
