2018 will be a critical year in the blockchain world as more users look to altcoins to make substantial gains. I believe the below coins have use cases and will make big runs this year.
0x:
0x has advisors that boast the co-founder of Coinbase Fred Ehrsam, Coinbase Program Manager Linda Xie, Olaf Wee from Polychain Capital, and Joey Krug from Pantera Capital. This is an all star lineup that has all the connections in the valley to make things happen. I've not even started on the backgrounds of the developers of 0x who hit every buzz word you want in this space with their backgrounds.

0x has over ten projects that are currently based off the 0x protocal. Each of the projects are game changers in the ERC20 space. Many people speculate that Coinbase would never add 0x because it's a competitor to what they currently offer. However, adding the 0x platform would open up a decentralized based exchange to trade ERC20 coins on the Ethereum blockchain.
0x has a max supply of 1,000,000,000 ZRX and currently has 481,119,xxx in circulation. The volume over the last two weeks has increased. The coin has real world use case to be a top ten coin by the end of 2018. If zrx is adopted by Coinbase - expect large gains not seen on any other level.
Civic:
Vinny Lingham is one of the more notable faces behind this project. Forget Lifelock and any other identity monitoring service out there. Civic just rolled out subscription plans and once business and consumers start buying into this Civic's price will rise significantly (like traditional companies will have revenue). The volume over the last month has increased substantially and there is certainly room for growth.
Civic is next level for identity theft and puts the technology in the hands of the consumers to control and protect identities. Each users identity is stored locally via the users Civic app (encrypted). When banks, hospitals, etc need your information the data will flow via the blockchain.
Civic is currently offering data breach services and identity monitoring services. Lets face it - this is a genius project because identities are stolen by the millions every year and companies are breached in losses of millions on financial loss, and in customer data. Civic has the unique opportunity to transform this space.
Expect Civic to break out this year - and within three-five years be a leader in the identity theft space.
Litecoin
I wrote about Litecoin several times earlier in the year (prior to the August fork). Each time I advocated that the price would rise by the end of 2017. I thought that $100 would be a safe bet for price by the end of 2017 (way off). Charlie Lee is committed to the project and recent upgrades to the network will allow faster payments and make an actual use case. Relay fees are in the process of being reduced which will make the every day use case for Litecoin.
I commend Lee for dumping his Litecoin to remove any conflicts of interest he may have. This shows he is in this project for the right reasons and profit is not going to drive where this project goes. Expect Litecoin to double this year and stay a consistent top five coin. It has everything Bitcoin dreams to be and more!

I totally agree on all the mentioned coins - even though Civic is my favourite crypto out there I've invested more in Bitshares (god take a look at the potential - could easily be in the top 5 this year)^^
