The new company, BAKKT (clever, as in "what is crypto backed by?" perhaps?) "...intends to leverage Microsoft cloud solutions to create an open and regulated, global ecosystem for digital assets."
Their first step is fiat/Bitcoin trading as an exchange (which will of course compete with Coinbase, etc) and then provide consumer and merchant solutions to integrate crypto payments.
Starbucks will be their first major retailer test case.

Steemit is a modern idea that will carry freedom and independence for many. what we've got visible is simply the start. whilst there are tens of millions here an entirely new economy will open up. it’s been fun up to now and I'm excited to look what happens next.
What's important is that (hopefully) Starbucks can save some money on the fees if crypto payments are more efficient for them. Then, if they pass this to the customers the coffee could be a bit cheaper in Bitcoin than in USD. When people ask 'What is the point of crypto?' then a cheaper coffee would surely be an obvious reason for them to finally grasp!
Excellent point. I try to tell people it's similar to places that offer a discount for paying in cash. Same thing will happen with crypto I believe.

Turns out that Starbucks accepting Crypto was a fake spreadout. Though i would definitely buy coffee with Bitcoin if I could. I remember once when I went to the Barista and asked him if they’d accept bitcoin. Hope that guy remembers me 😉
