Last night I went to go buy steem for the first time and I made a huge mistake that cost me about $135 US. (facepalm)
I went to coinbase to make the .05 BTC to steem SBD transaction and I somehow put the wrong receiving address in the spot that I was supposed to put my steem address, I put a BTC address. One that was generated on the screen with a QR code next to it, that I copy and pasted into the slot, thinking it was the steem address. Not sure who's address it was or where this BTC ended up, but it's no longer in my account.
So, basically I transferred BTC to someone's BTC account instead of my steem, and I'm not seeing it in my BTC wallet anymore after the transaction has been completed, so I guess it went somewhere else. Such a rookie mistake and I don't think I can recover it. I also got charged a fee of about $3 to do so, and I lost about $135 US.
Please be careful when making transactions and double check the info every time!!! This isn't a foolproof system and minor mistakes like this can cost you. This was my first send transaction in Coinbase and of course I screwed it up!! haha. Oh well.
If anyone has any suggestions on how I may be able to reverse it, I'd be grateful. I've sent a case number in, but it may take days before I get a response.

Welcome to the crypto world.
We all salute the big advanced features of Bitcoin: NO middle man, no 3rd party involved, all transactions are non- reversable.
But at the same time we all MUST perfectly understand the dangers comin with it. And understand our lone, absolute RESPONSIBILITY for all what we proceed. And NO exceptions. Ever.
How someone can return your funds, if holder of the private key of that adress your coins are resting now - even do NOT exist ???
And most likely - will never exist.

The BTC are no longer in your BTC wallet ? Because sometimes it takes some days to come in your Steem wallet. Normally, you have to transfer first in your BTC wallet and Steem by your Steemit wallet with the BTC address.
I'm not sure yet. Maybe it'll show up. I think another thing is the rate for $138 US is about $67 SBD and I may have gotten confused there. But I'm not sure. I'll find out soon enough
The Steem is a 2.15us so it's the good change.
