The "it's too late phenomenon" is pretty interesting considering everything is relative.
Let's say you bought some BTC at $1000 and it went up to $10 000 vs. if you bought the same amount at $10 000 and it shot up $100 000...
I mean were you too late or right on time in either case? You made the exact same profit.
No one should really think in terms of too late!

My approach is usually to wait for a good/obvious buy/sell opportunity.
