Which means at least one person thinks that bitcoin, among others, will still be around a year from now.
Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks announced they will accept bitcoin and ethereum as a form of payment for tickets.
His quote to coindesk was as follows:
"We will be adding a crypto payment ability. We will accept BTC, Eth, possibly some other currencies. [That's] to be determined."
The Dallas Mavericks will be adding support for bitcoin, ethereum, as well as possibly a couple other cryptocurrencies as a means of payment?
That is a far cry from where Cuban was less than a year ago when he went on twitter saying that bitcoin was in a bubble and due to crash at any time.
Some of his more popular tweets at the time:
"I think it's in a bubble. I just don't know when or how much it corrects. When everyone is bragging about how easy they are making $=bubble"
"Anyone anywhere can buy a stock. #crypto is like gold. More religion than asset. Except of course gold makes nice jewelry. #crypto notsomuch"

Keep in mind that bitcoin was around $2k per coin at that time.
So, on a day when those around you are losing their heads, keep in mind that some out there are building for the future.
This announcement from a well connected billionaire gives some insight as to his thoughts on where he sees things a year from now.
Sounds like he thinks there might be some demand from customers to purchasetickets via crypto.

I have so much respect for Mark Cuban. He was calling bitcoin a bubble but it seems after doing some homework he changed his mind. One of his advice were to invest 10% of your net worth into something like bitcoin and ethereum...I respect him for changing his mind especially his status. People like Peter Schiff continue to fail to recognize what bitcoin is and that's why I keep losing respect for him...even though his position on government guaranteed student loans and minimum wage is on the money.

He must've seen the light, or this could be a case of "if you can't beat them you join them", or he simply thinks (as you said) that people would entertain the option of paying with crypto soon, or he has probably bought some bitcoin and eth and he wants the price to increase so he's showing the world his seeming confidence in it by mentioning it.
It could be anything @jrcornel, take your best guess. But this is nice for cryptos though.

STEEM sure sounds like a winner. After all, the platforms it represents, i.e. Steemit, busy.org, et al, offer an intrinsic value which far exceeds that of other social-media platforms known for getting rich off its users, without return.
External advertising is the means of getting this 'hidden' gem recognized. There's a lot of internal cheerleading going on; but, each member who really believes in this currency needs to advertise on some level outside of the platforms.
It should be on your to-do list to buy or make something that makes people wonder what STEEM is, via clothing, or even something as small as a decal on your laptop, coffee mug, or gym bag. Ultimately, advertising is great for sparking the conversation/thought.
A person may not ask you directly; but they will add it to their search engine to learn more.
Many writers tend to be introverts. Talking and promoting may not be their strong suit. But, wearing the logo is something that speaks for itself.
Cuban's announcement is certainly good news.

All joking aside, these are the stories that are going to help stabilize cryptocurrency. I'm sure that rather than holding it, Mark Cuban/Mavericks will probably exchange it immediately for USD. But still a pretty good story for crypto.
