First I have to start that last month I went to Japan on what I thought was going to be a world wide tour. However it got cut short due to some lack of paperwork. Anyway I did got to spend a good time in Japan. After almost 6 years I am back into the island ready to mingle with my otaku side.
To nobody surprised I stayed mostly in Akiba aka Akihabara, enjoying the landscape full of waifus and mechas and monsters.

Almost at the end of my trip, I manage to visit the Tokyo Bitcoin Base which is a great building in a quiet neighborhood called Honshiocho. Not that far from the station there is a building for the bitcoin community. A full 4 story building with a cool basement and art, is trying to attract the bright minds of Japan and orange pill them.

The building looks great, and almost new. With certain sections of the building still being set up, it has almost 9 offices and a rooftop for businesses to build and and bring innovation to Japan. With a cool satoshi statue at the front, it shows how Japan is truly making strives to recapture the leadership in technology and future of digital currency.

The ground floor is dedicated as a public work-share office where people can become members and have use their space to work. With special offices for call conference I think the cozy ambiance and the chill vibe that the co-working space brings give it a sense of community ready to Build.

There are great amenities for the co-workers like an open fridge where people can just pick up watever drinks they want. A nice an comfortable couch full of Bitcoin books like "The Bitcoin Standard" both in english and japanese, "Mastering Bitcoin" by Andreas Antonopolous, one of my great Bitcoin mentors, and "Check your financial priviledges" which I haven't really heard of but looks interesting. There is also all type of toys and souvenirs of bitcoin which makes the place also like a young and kawaii place.
Also as a favorite spot for many expats, the bi-weekly meetings are pretty chill but interesting as we see people from different walks of life, from newcomers like me, to real OGs that have been in Japan for 20+ years. So is a great place to network.
I hope in the future, this can bring more and more people to talk and share their ideas and bring projects to light. Identify needs and bring funding into the next wave of projects that will make Bitcoin evolve with times. If you want to learn more about the office, you can follow them on X and say hi.
