If you are from UK or you are into BTC you surely heard of hackers who attacked NHS (hospitals mostly) in Uk with ransomware that encrypts HDDs and demands Bitcoin.
Ransomware called cryptolocker (and variations) that encrypts your whole HDD and demands BTC. Actually when you pay BTC - they give you key to unlock all lost data. Just this time this people attacked hospitals.. No comment on this.
Within a week they infected 200k machines but after tracking their BTC adresses - they made "only" 50k USD for this.
The news were top1 in UK and even CNBC International got on them

This attack was a false flag used to criminalize Bitcoin. The ransomware was created by the NSA in the first place.
Remember that all governments work for the central banks and the central banks know that a lot of people on this planet realize that we are being held hostage by the central banks.

They have bigger things to worry about right now like keeping the world stock and bond markets afloat long enough to convince the world that it was a terrorist attack on our computers that caused they system to collapse....
i absolutely agree, so given the nature of things i have been considering either shorting bitcoin or rolling out of the vxx and dumping all of it into ehteruem or tezos whch opens on the 22nd my thinking is that whatever action is taken will start at bitcoin and them work its way down so there is still quite a bit of money on the table, if the timing is correct.
This massive hacking will give governments an excuse to shut down Bitcoin or regulate it into uselessness.

i don't think this will happen, this was not a bitcoin problem this is NSA and bitoin just happen to be the crypto used, if the hackers where smart and had 0 chance to find out they would have used DASH or XMR that is alot harder to track.

yea I know theres good and bad hackers and in that case from the media I think it was the bad ones but you are right elites are the real terrorist on this planet.
Personally I think this whole event is staged. Much more to come in my opinion and is the perfect way to collapse the banks and pension system and have the sympathy of everybody on the planet.

Bitcoin was gaining steady all month until this news started to come out. Quite a shame. However not a bad time to buy a bit more and be ready for the next significant spike.
With everything that has happened, I just question everything. Nothing seems to happen by accident. Could be a case to hurt bitcoin by generating negative reactions by targeting hospitals. Wouldn't put anything past governments these days.

Judging by the amounts extorted , this is a very minor hack.
I personally think that they intend to hold onto the BTC until it tends to be a lot, given the issue that BTC grows exponentially

I think it's a short term pain, Bitcoin will come back on track in a few days. People who think that Governments can ban bitcoin are mistaken. Bitcoin is here to stay fellas, so stay clam and carry on buying bitcoins.

Whole world knows who is going to win the war... the faster people open their eyes, the lesser the damage and the greater benefits... High time for decentralisation. Bitcoin was rising too fast,so the Big Boys had to step in to slam it down. Enormous amount of money started to flow into the Crypto market,like 2-3 Billion on a daily basis and that is a big no-no! They want you to use their worthless FIAT paper currency!

This is the first ransomeware I've heard of that only accepts bitcoin as payment. All the others I've seen in the past wanted paypal and/or other types of payment. I smell a dieing bank.
I don't believe this could even be called ransomware. The files are not stolen, they are scrambled and encrypted. This could go on for years since the US is one of the only countries that make IT security a priority and there is still the possibility of another mutation. Their point wasn't to get bitcoin, it was to exploit a vulnerability. One which blockchain could ultimately remedy for most systems. Unfortunately, updating security measures is not going to do the trick. The real shame here is the NSA should have told Microsoft about the vulnerability instead of keeping it in their arsenal for possible use at a later date. Followed and Esteemed :-)
