Good points. This is usually a straightforward question to answer, but emotions get into the mix.
Can you afford to have the value of the asset you borrowed to buy go to $0, and is the risk of that happening (in your estimation) lower than the potential reward?
Usually, the answer is no.
Those are the right questions and the right way to think about it
