Introducing Huobi MENA, which leads Huobi to the Middle East and Africa.
On the 24th of October, during the World blockchain summit in Dubai, Huobi Global announced its newest addition to their expanding ecosystem. Huobi introduced Huobi MENA, a new digital asset exchange that is focused on servicing the Middle-Eastern and African market. Huobi MENA will open up its services to more than 20 countries, totaling over 400 million residents. Huobi wants to help the citizens in these regions by banking the unbanked and underbanked population.

During his speech at #WBSDubai, Huobi Mena co-founder and Director Mohit Davar, announced the big news of expanding into new territory with Huobi MENA. Besides being the Director at Huobi MENA, Mr. Mohit Davar is also the Chairman of the International Association of Money Transfer.
Huobi Global has once again expanded its services, which is in line with their expansion plan that was introduced earlier this year. Huobi MENA recently opened a new office in Dubai which will be their office location from where they will be offering their services. Digital asset exchange services are not Huobi Mena’s only offerings. Through their Huobi MENA platform, the team is also offering OTC trading and intends to offer other features like the ones offered by Huobi Capital and their educational platform. Middle East and Northern Africa
MENA stands for the Middle East and Northern Africa, which is considered a region that still has a large population unbanked and underbanked people. While the Arabic language unites residents from different MENA countries, the available banking systems, on the other hand, tend to have different rules depending on which country they operate in. Remittances, which are money transfers between people from different countries that transfer money from different banks tend to be very expensive and sometimes even impossible to process. Combining the unbanked/underbanked issues with the difficulty in remittances the prospects for people from MENA countries until recently had not been very good.
Blockchain and cryptocurrency enable digital currencies to be transferred between individuals and are independent of a person’s location. The only things people need is an internet connection and the (cryptocurrency) funds to transfer to another person. Despite some regulatory issues that some countries are still facing, at least the prospects will change for the better for unbanked/underbanked people in the region by the offering on a digital asset exchange.

Personal opinion
As I stated in my last article about Huobi, the company goes full speed ahead into their ongoing year of expansion.
As I see it, it can be very healthy for a company to expand into new regions. Huobi is doing it at an accelerated speed. They seem to have everything under control and I really applaud them for going forward with all their plans even more so considering the bearish cryptocurrency market conditions. I personally look forward to seeing Huobi’s next expansion.
