I think not many people would object to regaining control of their data, especially if it is worth money, but this is the catch, it is only worth money when it is combined in huge data sets and heavily processed to tease out the required trends or info for the end user.
If we're to to say that FB can use our data for a one time analysis for say $1 each time, the cost to those that buy this data at the moment from Facebook would blow out their budgets.
Maybe an equilibrium of price for the data may be found in time. But one thing is for sure, I would not put up with looking at ads on those very same platforms on top if it all.
