Why I sold off 25 % of my investments in other projects for OmiseGo.

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

I found out about this project today, though recall seeing their name pop up earlier in the month because of their crowdsale. I have sold 25% of my shares in other projects, and plan to increase my position greatly over time with fiat.

OmiseGO is a public Ethereum-based financial technology for use in mainstream digital wallets, that enables real-time, peer-to-peer value exchange and payment services agnostically across jurisdictions and organizational silos, and across both fiat money and decentralized currencies.

Omise has been around since 2013, with over 130+ employees with offices in 4 countries Thailand, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore. During there last series of investment funding they raised 20 million prior to the crowd sale. They are working with AliPay and have the Payment Card Industry Data Secuirty Standard in place from last year.

Jun Hasegawa, Omise’s CEO, revealed just recently that McDonald’s Thailand (over 240 locations), will be using OmiseGo’s payment channel.

Quoting Jun “We're launching OmiseGO to support Omise Payments and all existing stakeholders, including our existing and future merchants, such as McDonald's in other countries in Asia - McDonald's Thailand is just the start. Through OmiseGO, all Omise merchants will be able to seamlessly accept payments in multiple currencies, including ETH or BTC or other cryptos, without needing to know what their client is paying in. And any other payment gateways, including Omise's biggest competitors, as well as global giants like Stripe or Cybersource, will benefit from using OmiseGO/OMG, and are welcome, no partnership or permission needed. The OMG chain will be an entirely public and permission less network, connected to Ethereum.”

As a value investor, OmiseGo (OMG) shows and insane amount of potential, I wouldn't say now is the perfect time to invest, I bought in FOMO, but I plan to continue buying whether the price goes up or down. I advise that you invest and not trade, as this one is pure gold for the long term.

Was it the McDonalds news that made Omise increase so much the last few days?
@ronni

I think its part of it for sure, it was also only recently added to yunbi.

Good Luck @natra that developer list is DREAM TEAM for certain. ALL STARS still have to get on with creating a product vs concept, that's what we await.
