It is out of style now, there was the ICO boom recently. I basically think that many of ICOs in the cryptocurrency market are fraudulent. So when deciding on an ICO investment, I consider the development team and the already implemented platform together. BAT (Basic Attention Token) was one of the items that made investment decisions. Of course, I failed to participate BAT ICO.
BAT is a block-chain compensation that operates on the Brave Browser. By default, the Brave Browser blocks all ads, but users can indicate their intention to view ads on particular websites (publisher). When the user sees the ad, the user and publisher get BAT. Of course, BAT is paid by the advertiser.
BAT is on the roadmap of a major update called Mercury-Gemini-Apollo. And on August 1, according to the development roadmap, they released the first update, the BAT Mercury Concept. I am glad to know that the development team is consistently developing.
BAT Mercury has two goals.
- Apply BAT wallet to Brave Browser
- Change the payment method from bitcoin to BAT
Until now, bitcoin is used as a payment method, but since Mercury update BAT will be used.
In Gemini update, they apply the actual ads to form the BAT ecosystem. In Apollo update, they extend the BAT ecosystem to other platforms besides the Brave Browser.
Under the command of Brendan Eich, all development is proceeding as planned. It is noteworthy that the BAT ecosystem can make a new paradigm shift in the current situation where ads are perceived as unnecessary for Internet users.

BAT는 Brave Browser 상에서 동작하는 블록체인 보상 체계입니다. 기본적으로 Brave Browser는 모든 광고를 차단하는데, 유저는 특정 사이트(publisher)에 대해서 광고를 보겠다는 의도를 표시할 수 있습니다. 유저가 해당 광고를 보면 유저와 publisher는 BAT를 획득합니다. 물론, BAT는 advertiser에 의해서 지불됩니다.
BAT는 로드맵에 따라서 Mercury-Gemini-Apollo라는 메이저 업데이트를 앞두고 있습니다. 그리고 8월 1일 개발 로드맵에 따라서 첫 번째 업데이트인 BAT Mercury Concept를 발표했습니다. 개발진이 꾸준히 개발을 진행 중이라는 사실이 너무 반갑습니다.
BAT Mercury는 두 가지 목표를 가지고 있습니다.
- Brave Browser에 BAT wallet 적용
- 지불 수단을 비트코인에서 BAT로 변경
지금까지는 비트코인을 지불 수단으로써 이용했는데, Mercury 업데이트 이후로는 BAT를 사용하게 됩니다.
그리고 Gemini에서는 실제 광고를 적용해서 BAT 생태계를 구성하고, Apollo에서는 Brave Browser 외에 다른 플랫폼으로 BAT 생태계를 확장시킵니다.
Brendan Eich라는 네임 밸류에 걸맞게 모든 개발이 차근차근 진행되고 있습니다. 광고가 인터넷 사용자에게 불필요한 것으로 인식되는 현 상황에서 BAT 생태계가 새로운 시스템을 구성할 수 있을지 주목됩니다.
저도 지금 모바일 brave 브라우저로 보고 있는 중입니다. 예~전에 아주 소액이지만 bat도 사서 그냥 없는 셈 치고 짱박아 놨구요. 비전도 개발력도 있어 보이는데 말씀하신대로 어느정도의 영향력을 보여줄 수 있을지 아직 감을 못잡겠네요.오늘도 좋은 글 잘 읽고 갑니다.

우선 개발진들의 문제 인식은 정확하다고 생각합니다. 현재 온라인 광고 시장은 유저 보상이 없습니다. 그래서 유저는 이익을 극대화하기 위해서 광고를 차단합니다.
그런 유저들에게 적합한 보상을 제공함으로써 광고 시장의 선순환을 이어가겠다는 것이 개발진들의 생각이죠.

First of all, I think that the problems suggested by the developers are correct. Currently, there is no user compensation for the online advertising market. So the users just block ads to maximize their profits.
It is the development team's intention to continue the virtuous cycle of the advertising market by providing appropriate compensation for Internet users.
인식을 바꾼다는건 쉽지 않을텐데 그래도 실체가 없는것보다 뭔가를 하려는 모습이 저 코인에 대한 신뢰를 주는군요.
사업 모델도 괜찮아 보입니다. 우리가 스티밋을 이용하는 이유는 글을 쓰면 돈을 주기 때문인데, 같은 이유로 웹서핑을 하는 것만으로도 유저가 보상을 받습니다. 유저 유인 요소가 있죠. 계획대로 올해까지 Gemini 업데이트가 완료되면 BAT 수요가 증가할 것이라고 생각합니다.
저도 마찬가지로 ICO 때 실패하고 허망함을 맛봤습니다. 그 후 비트렉스에서 매수하고는 한없이 땅끝으로 추락하길래 아예 잊어버리고 살았는데 계속 개발중이군요. 브레이브 브라우저가 아직 자잘한 이슈들이 많지만 계속 발전해서 시장을 바꿨으면 하는 바람입니다. 좋은 소식 감사합니다.

그 무수히 있는 광고보면 돈준다는 앱들이 생각나는군요
그것들과 다른 점은 코인을 주고 그 코인이 거래소에 상장된다는 것인데 실제로 돌아간다면 꽤 해볼만 하겠네요
