RE: Bitcoin Cannot Be Only a Store of Value

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

Interesting read. I'm new to cryptocurrencies and I've been trying to get my head around what exactly the value of various coins are.

It seems to me that bitcoin could work primarily as a store of value only while there is a diminishing (but realistic) supply of future coins. That is, it would provide a ROI while that was the case, but once the provision of new coins becomes so small as to be fairly meaningless then investing dries up and so too does the ROI.

Having said all that, I'm a total noob to cryptocurrencies and not that well versed in commodity based monetary systems. So I could be spectacularly wrong there.. ;)
