Facebook and Instagram Disallow Bitcoin Ads

Facebook implements a new policy that prohibits advertising about digital currency aka cryptocurrency appear on social networking. That is, no more ads that promote the use of bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, et al circulating on Facebook.

According to Facebook, cryptocurrency is nothing more than a financial product associated with misleading promotional practices. So, if allowed to advertise on its platform, Facebook means to share the things that are not true.

These cryptocurrency ads are not just not allowed in Facebook's core services, but also in its "kids" Instagram. It was delivered by Facebook executive representative, Rob Leathern.

"We will continue to improve the detection ability of misleading advertising practices," he said.

Cryptocurrency is busy talking among modern society. Many countries support, but not a few who oppose the system.

Bitcoin discussed because the exchange rate had soared at the end of last year. The value of one bitcoin ever touched 15,000 US dollars or about Rp 214 million.

At the beginning of this year, bitcoin prices fell to levels below 12,000 US dollars for the first time since December 5, 2017. Bitcoin prices had touched the level of 11,685.24 US dollars or equivalent about Rp 156,579 million.
