I think Bitcoin and other crypto is something difference. In some ways it's more real that regular money as you can prove a particular part of it exists. Like many things it's only worth something if someone will buy it off you, with other currency or goods. The value of any currency is based on a consensus. If that collapses then it's worth less (or worthless). The world is still figuring out if this can work.
