What would happen if we all started doing this?

Should we start a movement where crypto users start defacing different currencies?? I'm sure the governments aren't gonna like it, but they have been screwing us with their inflationary ponzi money for decades now, so maybe we could return the favor.

rofl! it meant that bitcoin is more bet

good advertising for bitcoin because many people never heard about bitcoin

Big governments will always be against cryptocurrencies. Stamping banknotes will only make them more justified to harden their attempts on banning crypto as they will feel more threatened by monetary revolution. In my opinion crypto users shouldn't do anything to provoke government to take actions. Such actions won't be beneficial to us. Sadly not everyone lives in Japan or Switzerland so we need to adapt to our realms and use crypto as we do. Let's just do our thing and the revolution will happen anyway as the majority of the people and free market will choose what's suits them better. The longer the government is unaware of the threat of current order the better. It's better to catch them unprepared once crypto will be the new standard. They won't be able to suppress it that easily then.

It doesn't really look like that @m-san.. check my last article on Malta, a legitimate EU member state which shows a certain commitment in the use of the blockchain protocol and cryptos. Things are moving..

All governments and legacy financial institutions are well aware of cryptos, but there are still many people who have barely heard of bitcoin, especially in 2nd & 3rd world countries.

Yes, governments are aware of cryptos but they are not aware it could threaten the whole monetary system that they are trying to keep. Some governments take initiatives to create laws for crypto trading, yes, but in fact it's similar to gold. Governments allow gold trading but they want to keep it minimal. They ban it every time it gets too big. Almost every country had such attempt it it's history. Suggesting the governments that FIAT is in danger is not a good idea. After all probably most countries will release their own crypto and will try to force people to use it instead of other cryptos designed by the citizens and companies. Russia already took some steps in that direction.
Governments wants to control and print money. We don't want them to control and print money. This conflict won't easily resolve. That's my opinion.

It's true that the US gov. did put a ban on gold, but I think it was a different era. Such a ban in the age of the internet is almost futile. Secondly, even if governments launch their own inflationary cryptos, very few people would use them as majority of the value will flow towards deflationary, decentralized cryptos like bitcoin, eth and litecoin.

I think that the sharing economy and the rise of multinational tech corporations, who are most of the times just pretending to be compliant with the rules of governments, already demonstrated one thing. That the exercise of power through the government as we intend it conventionally is starting to become an outpaced model. In History, currencies always received their legitimation from the crowd who used them.

I would agree. I would even go as far as stating that the model is in its final stage of collapse, and that a large subset of the newer generations wants the centralized model to fail badly.

And what do governments do the best? Manipulate the crowd. People are ready to die for it. Literally. People go to war and kill other people because they were manipulated by the governments that this is the right thing to do. In the topic of cryptos the easiest way is to create a complicated multi-level manipulation that will convince people that cryptocurrencies are fraud, money-laundering, unnecessary act of evil for thefts and people avoiding taxes. After some time people will be defending the old system by their own. I can see similar schemas in many different domains. Some corporations do that to sell their crappy products and people are buying them even if they have better options. Governments manipulate to stay in charge and push what is beneficial to them... and people are buying that too. I don't mean the US. I mean the most countries in the world.
I am not a crypto-sceptic. I'm a governments-running-to-help-liberate-monetary-system sceptic. ;)

..which ironically are the countries that would benefit the most from digital currencies..

I cant find a similar stamp..I need it now! This is another one I found on reddit :-P
