Could one day the cryptocurrency world swallow up social media?

Considering that giants like Facebook are worth billions, and considering they're really only worth the amount of people using them, how long until people wake up and realize their value and start joining a cryptocurrency backed social media platform where they get rewarded, and how big would be the boost in value?

Consider these facts:

  1. "A $350 billion market valuation isn't cool. You know what is? $1 trillion." Facebook stock surged nearly 10% to an all-time high Thursday following its strong earnings report.   2. Trends for searches - bitcoin, cryptocurrency, crypto

There is no real way to get what those really mean, but one can always use some ways to estimate

I think we're still at the very begging of understanding the potential of cryptocurrencies, and how they hold the potential to shape the future.

    IMO, we are very early in the stage of cryptos. I cant see nothing but upside to this revolutionary technology. I do believe it will grow at faster rate than previous techs or social platforms due to the proliferation of mobile acces to internet, and the fact that one can actually earn while doing it.

    We have barely scratched the surface of the cryptoworld, and how good it can work for the masses, but I do believe transparency is the next step. Anonymity sounds romantic, but it doesn't work
