I've always enjoyed the amazing Miles Franklin Gold and Silver Newsletter, written mostly by Andy Hoffman. I've read his daily pro- silver rants daily for many years. He is spot on accurate and smart. The newsletter is online at https://www.milesfranklin.com/blog/articles/

Its amazing that now that Mr Hoffman is also a supporter of Bitcoin and crypto currencies, his days as newsletter writer for Miles Franklin Precious Metals are over. I guess there is too much of a conflict of interest when your newsletter is written to support the purchase of gold and silver and the lead writer is now also a supporter of Bitcoin, Ethereum et al.

Andy explains that he supports both crypto currencies AND precious metals investing. He is always honest in his writings and tells it like it is. But it is telling that he can no longer represent a precious metals dealer if his writings tend to support purchases of crypto as well.

His skepticism of bitcoins years ago have recently turned to full on support. This has made me think twice about my precious metals investments and I too am now a recent convert to digital currencies. Meanwhile, Other silver advocates such as Peter Schiff still are anti Bitcoin.

You can follow Andy's new twitter feed at https://twitter.com/Andy_Hoffman_CG.

Peter dislikes bitcoin because he thinks it has no utility value. Schiff truly believes that utility value is very important, and you can tell because he discusses it all the time: silver in solar panels, gold in electronics... etc etc. It's not some fear based dislike of Bitcoin. It's based on what he thinks matters in a fundamental, principled way.

Andy Hoffman's views were originally similar to Peter Schiff's. The point of the article is that his views, like mine, have totally changed, so much so that he can no longer write the precious metals newsletter. That is truly amazing.

As to utility value, Peter Schiff is right that utility value is important. But the crypto currencies have an amazing future utility value, as a private secure money. Here is a speech I attended by Peter Schiff in January.
